TeamPlain Web Access will be re-released as Team System Web Access as part of the Team Foundation Server Power Tools.
Team System Web Access will be fully integrated into a future version of Visual Studio Team System.

What is TeamPlain Web Access?
TeamPlain Web Access is a web interface for Team Foundation Server that allows managing work items, documents, reports, and source control repositories through the web without installing additional software. TeamPlain extends Team Foundation Server to many platforms and provides a convenient, easy to use interface for accessing core Team Foundation Server features.
Why has Microsoft acquired devBiz?
Customers have shown repeated interest in making all Team Foundation Server features available through a web interface. Doing so extends the reach of Team Foundation Server to many platforms and provides a convenient, easy-to-use interface for all users of Team Foundation Server without requiring the install of additional software on each user’s machine. The TeamPlain product has been well received by customers as a powerful web client for Team Foundation Server. Microsoft has acquired devBiz to make the benefits of its integrated TeamPlain web portal available to all current and future Team Foundation Server customers. Going forward, Microsoft will continue to innovate on the web client and make it a key part of future releases of Team Foundation Server.
How will the TeamPlain Web Access product be made available?
Starting today you can
download
TeamPlain Web Access from the devBiz website free of charge. In several months, Microsoft will make available an updated version of TeamPlain as part of the Team Foundation Server Power Tools. The TeamPlain product will then be fully integrated into a future release of Visual Studio Team System.
How much with TeamPlain Web Access cost?
TeamPlain Web Access starting today is being made available as a free download from the devBiz website. The product can be installed on your existing Team Foundation Server deployments at no additional charge. However, each user who accesses the TeamPlain web portal must have purchased a Team Foundation Server Client Access License (CAL) prior to use.
How will the acquired products be supported?
Today you can continue to receive support for TeamPlain through the devBiz support forums. Once TeamPlain is released as a TFS Power Tool, support will be made available through MSDN Forums. Once released with a future version of Visual Studio team System, full support will be available from Microsoft.
Will I still be able to purchase the other devBiz products?
The other devBiz products will no longer be available for purchase. Microsoft will evaluate these products and may decide in the future to integrate them into existing Microsoft products.
How does TeamPlain differ from the TFS Portal?
The TFS Portal is the central site for team collaboration. It provides access to documents, announcements, process guidance, project status, and other relevant information for the entire product team. TeamPlain Web Access provides a web interface for the core Team Foundation Server capabilities, including work item tracking, reporting, and version control.
Will I be able to upgrade the current version of TeamPlain to a future release?
Microsoft will provide an easy upgrade path from existing version of the TeamPlain product to future versions.
How can I convert my paid license to an unlimited license?
Download the new
Unlimited License
Extract the downloaded zip file to
<TeamPlain-Installation-Folder>\Web\App_Data\Settings
directory and overwrite the existing
Licenses.xml
file
Restart IIS
